HEALING STARTS WITH A NEW OUTLOOK

OUR MISSION
OUR STORY
T.A.P PROGRAM

Our Outlook

Our goal is to provide a multi-disciplinary approach to chronic pain management for medically necessary patients whose lives have been negatively impacted by their condition.  We do not seek to eliminate pain, but to regain or maintain/improve function and allow our patients to continue living a life full of quality despite living with daily chronic pain.

About our new outlook

A recent draft report by the National Institute of Health authored in September 2014 stated: “At the root of the problem is the inadequate knowledge about the best approaches to treat various types of pain, balancing the effectiveness with the potential for harm, as well as a dysfunctional health care delivery system that encourages clinicians to prescribe the easiest rather than the best approach for addressing pain.”[i]  Dr. Aballay desires to help patients in chronic pain, based upon this desire and the knowledge as a front line clinician in the battle against chronic pain conditions he recognized that a “New Outlook” would be the only way to better the lifestyle of his patients.  With his ideals and a desire to use a multifaceted approach to treating chronic pain conditions, he decided to take this large scale problem into his own hands by founding New Outlook Medical Associates.  At New Outlook Medical Associates, Dr. Aballay has developed a medical practice with the goal of combating the issue of chronic pain, taking the time to educate patients and the community, and provide more options and facets of treatment to make the pain management of his patients more effective.  Dr. Aballay has embraced the phrase, “What works for one patient does not work for the next.”  New Outlook Medical Associates, through Dr. Aballay meets with every patient, developing a treatment protocol based upon their individual diagnosis, and re-evaluates the treatment protocol with the goal of increasing each patient’s ability to return to their daily lifestyle and regain functionality.  For every patient, community member, referring physician, they will find that New Outlook Medical Associates is a place where people can climb from the plateaus of adversity to reach the peak of their goals and dreams and find a new outlook on life.

OUR TOTAL ADHERENCE PROGRAM (T.A.P)

We conduct random pill counts and urine drug screen testing on all our patients to ensure safe medication adherence to protect our patients and the community.  We ensure women of child-bearing age are pregnancy tested before any treatment is begun.  We ensure they are on proper contraception and educate regarding the risk of Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome.  We abide by guidelines put forward by the Board of Health in the Tennessee Chronic Pain Management Guidelines and all other state and federal guidelines.  Our goal is to provide safe, and responsible pain management to ensure our patients receive appropriate treatment amidst a field that unfortunately is prevalent with both provider incompetence/miseducation and patient misuse.
